First time authors Verna Raikes Ritz and Bonnie Raikes Nida are natives of Logansport, Indiana. Since leaving the area, they have been blessed with ever expanding families and an abundance of new friends and neighbors. Eventually they managed to write ‘Last Resort.’

Verna Raikes Ritz is a retired librarian/archivist who has loved books ever since her first Nancy Drew mystery. In 1993 the desire to write a mystery drew her and her sister together to begin writing Last Resort. She thanks Bonnie for finishing the book in 2000. After carting the manuscript around for 20+ years, she shepherded it through the Amazon self-publishing process.
